1 KANSAS-Well-balanced, well-coached and very deep
2 KENTUCKY-If this group meshes, this may be the USA's best team. They are three deep at every position.
3 VILLANOVA-A Final Four candidate
4 MICHIGAN STATE-Izzo has a veteran and talented squad.
5 PURDUE-A healthy Robbie Hummel is huge.
6 NORTH CAROLINA-A ton of athleticism to reload with.
7 CALIFORNIA-Mike Montgomery has proved his skills as a college coach-again.
8 TEXAS-One of the deepest teams in the country.
9 WEST VIRGINIA-A deep run in postseason is probable.
10 WASHINGTON-Freshman PG Abdul Gaddy should blend nicely with a veteran returning nucleus.
11 DUKE-Depth and the PG position could be concerns.
12 CONNECTICUT-This solid unit is led by the strong backcourt of Walker and Dyson.
13 BUTLER-All five starters return from the 26-6 team.
14 MISSISSIPPI STATE-The Bulldogs could be the biggest sleeper in the land.
15 MICHIGAN-Beilein seems to have this program back to prominence.
16 GEORGIA TECH-Hewitt has a strong roster. He needs a strong season.
17 VANDERBILT-Another sleeper out of the SEC
18 GEORGETOWN-The Hoyas need to finish this season like they started last season.
19 OKLAHOMA STATE-Most are overlooking Travis Ford's club.
20 ILLINOIS-A good nucleus is back along with a strong recruiting class.
21 TENNESSEE-Again the Vols have a boatload of talent but will they disappoint again at the end?
22 SIENA-Four starters return that has plenty of postseason experience.
23 OLE MISS-The Rebels look healthy and could be a darkhorse in the SEC and NCAA.
24 OKLAHOMA-The backcourt has experience. The frontcourt does not.
25 FLORIDA STATE-The potent pair of Alabi and Singleton will be joined by the athletic Michael Snaer.
